US INITIAL JOBLESS CLAIMS (MAY) AT 367,000 vs prv 368,000

U.S Initial Jobless Claims for week ended 5 May 2012 came in lower by 1000 at 367,000, in line with expectations of claims of 368,000 vs an average of 373,000 claims since February 2012. The decline in claims is the lowest since March 2012. The number of people on unemployment benefit payrolls declined to 2.5 percent for week ended 28 April 2012 vs 2.6 percent in the previous week.
